CII – Bosch Exclusive Workshop on Industry 4.0: Intelligent Solutions for Connected Manufacturing Thursday - Friday, 17 & 18 May 2018 : Bidadi, Karnataka Southern Region

Industry 4.0 is expected to revolutionise industrial production and industrial companies globally are expected to generate 3.6% p.a. in cost reductions over the next five years, driven by internal improvements and by working more closely across value chains.

Though Industry 4.0 is the need of the hour and it bodes well for manufacturing as a whole, the scenario for Indian manufacturing is somewhat different, even though the aim is to increase the share of the manufacturing sector to GDP to 2020 by 25 %. The manufacturing narrative for India thus necessitates building the Digital Enterprise for the country.

Under Industry 4.0, machines and products can communicate so they can manage the Manufacturing ecosystem taking into account the dynamics of Demand - Supply. Software-based systems and service platforms will play a major role in tomorrow’s manufacturing; they are the only way to bring connectivity, including data analysis, to machines and work pieces in production.

This new era of digitization is expected to bring about numerous opportunities in terms of growth and efficiency.

Industry 4.0 is driven by four disruptions:

The rise in data volumes, computational power, and connectivity, especially new low power wide area networks.

The emergence of analytics and business intelligence capabilities.New forms of human machine interaction such as touch interfaces and augmented reality systems. Improvements in transferring digital instructions to the physical world, such as advanced robotics and 3D printing.

In order to support member companies in the application of the Industry 4.0 levers and value drivers, CII Naoroji Godrej Centre of Manufacturing Excellence (CII CME) and Bosch India is pleased to offer a 1.5 days training and plant visit in the Bosch plant at Bidadi, Karnataka on 8 & 9 March 2018
